Helping Clients Move from Welfare to Work: Welfare Reform (TANF) for Addiction Professionals

Designed for counselors and other addiction professionals, this course provides information about working with clients who participate in welfare programs, especially clients who receive Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). It reviews welfare reform, the roles of treatment professionals in welfare, Federal requirements of the TANF program, and several issues faced by treatment professionals who work with welfare clients. It provides tools to identify your state's welfare requirements and to track clients' progress through the welfare reform system.
